Charter capital is required for opening of your own company in any country, including Estonia. At that local laws are quiet loyal to the amount of money required for launch of a business.
Two main types of companies in Estonia are OÜ (limited liability company) and AS (joint-stock company). The first type suits for the registration of small and medium-sized enterprises, and the second type – for big ones. Depending on the chosen type of organization of the company, size of the charter capital differs considerably.
Minimum charter capital for a limited liability company (partnership) is 2,500 euro, and for a joint-stock company – 25,000 euro. It should be noted that the whole amount must be paid at once for the registration of AS. For OÜ it’s not obligatory to form the charter capital during the registration procedure – time limits for its contribution are declared in corresponding constitutional documents.
